Nice Surprise - Interesting Read Verne is a master - This is a book I hadn't heard of until I read it. I really enjoyed it. This was written before Antarctica was explored. It was interesting to read Verne's speculations on the subject. He was pretty close on a lot of things.. Issues with digitizing. When they digitized this book, the double quotation marks ("), apostrophes ('), ellipses (), and degree symbols (°) were all replaced by one or more question marks. As a result, it was sometime difficult to read. Moreover, there are numerous optical character recognition (OCR) errors that were introduced during the digitizing process. It is sequel to Edgar Allen Poe's The Narrative of A. Gordon Pym, but never having read the Poe story, I think this book is a great stand alone story. Includes unique illustrations!. If you like classic novels, victorian era novels, or adventure novels than this book is worth the time to read.
