Some great illustrations Dachsielover Let's face it. If you buy a book like this you are looking for great illustrations, as there are so many great versions of the fairy tales to choose from. So how do the pictures stack up? The Sleeping Beauty is illustrated by the wonderful Arthur Rackham and is a joy to. Elizabeth Byrne said Terrible book for children. This is a TERRIBLE book for children. Anytime a story has a mother calling her child a 'dolt' and an 'idiot', then it's really not appropriate for children. I don't know any parent that would think this is a good version of the classic fairy tales.
