Effective horror - very well done! Lurk is a multi-faceted horror novel that has a slow creep of horror that escalates as you read it. I found the depth of the characters to really mesh well with each other, as the characters are vividly described and come alive on the page. The characters are not static and evolve as the action forces them too. They are well rounded, and I found it easy to relate to them, especially on an emotional level in places.
