Issued the cast offs from the Army, worn out weapons and horses the black calvary regiments have one of the best unit records in the US Army in most all respects. Salute them. Mr Ray's books are a worthy read to honor the memory of these men.. Buffalo Soldier: Homecoming mimbresgirl The story was enjoyable but I wish the author had spent more time with the main character reflecting on the meaning of being a colored soldier in a time of great importance in history. The family aspect of the story was very good.. Great series This is an excellent book in a really great series about the American west. The characters are really likable and interesting. Great storylines too.
