DESCRIPTION:
Highly Recommended - Especially for Developers This book is fun to read and had a huge positive impact on my outlook of software development. Had just completed a new server-side service and my manager casually mentioned I should automate the build/deployment process. Ended up learning about CI/CD which led me to Victor's blog and ultimately this book. What I had originally thought would be a few custom scripts turned into a philosophy for the development process itself, along with a practical guide to us. If you are into DevOps, then this HAS to be on your shelf.Make it your BIBLE.One of my favorite books! One of the best books on DevOps I have ever come across. I finished this in little less than 3 days. Couldn't take my eyes off it till I finished every chapter in it. Fantastic narration and explanation of complex topics. I loved the service discovery chapter the most.Enough said! Just get this book if you want to get your fundamentals of DevOps right. Core concepts that make up DevOps need to be understood really well and this helps you do that exactly.. A very complete and thorough guide. First Amazon review. This is a truly great book for 3 reasons:1) It provides a *Complete* beginning to end automation system with code that you can use and adapt to your own purposes.2) The style of the book starts from first principles for each area, starting with the problems you are trying to solve, and working through the design process.3) The decision process for tool selection is fully explained. In one case the solution is worked out twice, using etcd
This book is about different techniques that help us architect software in a better and more efficient way with microservices packed as immutable containers, tested and deployed continuously to servers that are automatically provisioned with configuration management tools. It's about fast, reliable and continuous deployments with zero-downtime and ability to roll-back. We'll go through many practices and even more tools. It's about scaling to any number of servers, design of self-healing systems capable of recuperation from both hardware and software failures and about centralized logging and monitoring of the cluster. In other words, this book envelops the whole microservices development and deployme
